The much talked about and debated barefoot running issue led me to my Nike Free 5.0 V4. However, I must say that I wasn't one to just settle for this kind of shoes just as easily, unless I buy them from a good running shoes store.

I couldn't say for sure that I'm totally sold with the idea of running really barefoot since my feet can't afford not to wear the proper shoes for work. I've had some good pair of running shoes before, recommended by a reliable running shoe store. Nevertheless, the more I read about the arguments about running barefoot, the more I get convinced that performance wise, running barefoot may have its good points to consider.

I came to know about Nike Free 5.0 v4 Men's Running Shoe from my favorite running shoe outlet. The salesperson who recommended this to me didn't ask me about brands or preferences. She didn't have to pretend she knew a lot about running shoes since their computerized equipment will do all the analyzing.

She showed me to this cubicle where they had this small apparatus, something similar to a biofeed machine and a computer that will interpret the graphs about my feet analysis. Wonderful! The computer included Nike Free 5.0 v4 Men's Running Shoe among its recommendations.

I tried one for size and I must say it was initially a good experience from the moment I put it on. It provided good support as the contoured insoles practically wrapped around my medial arch. Materials in all places were totally soft and were in fact bonded sans any running stitch seams that could also feel grainy in some regular shoes.

The flexibility in the midsole area of a Nike Free 5.0 v4 was matched by the resiliency of the Waffle outsoles without sacrificing traction and the required durability. Everything about these shoes is flexibility for the barefoot running concept yet with the added confidence that you're running with feet protected. I tried it on while running and there simply was no need to maintain control. I practically assumed my natural gait, without the need to experience the hardness and roughness of ground contact against unprotected bare soles.

How Can One Tell if the Outlet is a Good Running Shoe Store?

The problem though is not all running shoe specialty stores are as helpful as they claim to be. As much as I would like to advice newbies to buy their first running shoes from a running shoe store, my initial advice would be to find yourself a good store first. Buy online if you want to get good discounts but get your choice confirmed at a good running shoe store.

Whereas before we only had magazine reviews and forums to rely on when checking out shoes, today we have a better option by buying from reliable running shoe stores. The latter attracted attention to themselves when they introduced foot and shoe analysis to guarantee their customers' satisfaction. This proved to be quite successful since a lot of foot problems and apprehensions about buying the right kind of shoes were resolved.

Now here's a good choice of a running shoe store, albeit adapting simple methods. A knowledgeable staff will not ask you your brand. The first step is to make you run; even on a treadmill for at least 20 minutes. The salesperson will watch your gait and foot stride for the whole duration and come up with his analysis whether you're flat footed or high arched or whether you supinate or overpronate.

Now the better running shoes store are more high-tech as they are equipped with computers to do the analysis about your feet, your gait and your stride then come up with a match. In addition, even the soles of your old shoes will be analyzed to confirm if you tend to roll out your foot or land on your heels or make some toe-strikes instead.

Nevertheless, expect more accurate results this way but expect the shoe price to be higher. This is how I was able to confirm that my feet will benefit from the barefoot running concept and that the Nike Free 5.0 V4 was my best choice
